Wood County Health Department participates in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System. When you retire, or if you become disabled, you may receive a pension based on earning from your employment with the Wood County Health Department. For more information, visit the OPERS website.
When you are employed by Wood County Health Department, your earnings are not be covered under Social Security. If upon retirement you receive a pension through OPERS and you are also entitled to a benefit from Social Security based on either their own work or their spouse’s work, your pension may affect the amount of the Social Security benefit you receive.
