TITLE:                                Health Education Specialist

GENERAL SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The Health Education Specialist is responsible for coordinating health education for the Wood County Health Department, including health behavior campaigns, vaccination promotion and education-centered community outreach campaigns. The coordinator will develop curricula to promote healthy living, conduct health education activities and oversee resources that support health education and outreach efforts

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Plan, coordinate and participate in health education events and activities.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Health Education, Health Promotion or Public Health.
  • Work with health department and community partners to identify current and emerging health issues and prioritize populations for participation in health education programs.
  • Design marketing materials, including flyers, brochures, social and digital media content, posters and billboards to promote health education activities.
  • Engage various stakeholders to address health issues and advocate for healthy living.
  • Recruit, train and coordinate volunteers to amplify health promotion program reach.
  • Identify and use new technology to amplify health education activities and engagement.

GENERAL SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:  Under the direct supervision of the Medical Billing Manager, the Clinical Services Assistant facilitates the smooth transit of patients through the community health center and provides a range of critical tasks that support an efficient, effective and financially sustainable program. This position ensures an orderly and appropriate atmosphere in the health center. The Clinical Services Assistant participates in the ongoing evaluation of health center operations to assure the delivery of high quality services that support the financial sustainability of the program. 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Medical or dental office experience preferred.
  • Must have (Microsoft office) computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, power point, and others.

TITLE:                                           Intermittent Part Time Dental Hygienist

GENERAL SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: Under the general supervision of a Dentist and using established dental hygiene protocols and procedures, the Dental Hygienist provides professional, high-quality dental care and education to a broad range of patients within the scope of service consistent with accepted standards of care. This position offers support where needed to ensure smooth, efficient running of Dental Health Services with in the Health Center and participates in the ongoing evaluation of operations to assure the delivery of high-quality services that support the financial sustainability. Evaluates patients and implements treatment regimens under the supervision of the Dentist. Provides complete documentation of all findings, treatments and outcomes. Part-time employees accumulate sick and vacation hours based on hours worked.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) from an accredited school of dental hygiene program with a current license to practice in the state of Ohio
  • CPR certification
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license
