Current/Most Recent Career Position: Senior Lecturer/Health Information Administration Program Director

Dr. Sezginis has been serving on the BOH since March 2013. She completed her MPH Internship at WCHD in 2008; worked on projects with the health commissioner and directors. Her extensive background in health care audit/compliance, privacy/security, billing/reimbursement allowed her to contribute to the audit of the health clinic’s billing process and the development of HIPAA training programs for employees. In her tenure, she participated in the CHA, PH Accreditation process, served on the Obesity Task Force, represented the WCHD at Wood County (WC) Health Fairs, and participated at Covid-19 vaccination clinics provided by the WCHD at various county locations. She was instrumental and supported the dental health clinic’s start-up at WC that was needed to meet the underserved population’s dental health care needs. She is a member of the APHA, completed her doctoral degree in Health Education, and feels that promoting and improving healthy behaviors leads to healthier communities.

Thomas Milbrodt

Current/Most Recent Career Position: PhysicianDr. Thomas Milbrodt is a retired physician. He practiced Internal Medicine in Bowling Green for 24 years and, after retiring from clinical practice, worked part-time supporting medical information technology at Wood County Hospital for 10 years. He also serves on the board of The Wood County Committee on Aging, the board of the Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Foundation and as financial secretary of Bowling Green First United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Bowling Green Schools Board of Education from 1996 through 2011. Prior to his medical training he obtained a Ph.D. in physics from Michigan State University and was a member of the Physics and Astronomy Department at BGSU for two years.

Bob Midden

Current/Most Recent Career Position: Research Professor in the BGSU Chemistry Department

I earned a BS degree in Chemistry with a minor in Biology at St. John’s University in Minnesota in 1974 and a PhD in biochemistry at Ohio State University, August 1978. I did postdoctoral research in physical organic chemistry with the renowned Dr. Jack Hine who wrote one of the best textbooks on that subject. Then in 1980 I took a position in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences in the School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. This is widely considered to be one of the two best Public Health Schools in the country. At Hopkins I helped create a new PhD program in Environmental Chemistry and developed and taught most of the core course in that PhD program. At Hopkins I benefited from collaboration with and guidance by some of the best medical personnel, public health professionals, and scientists in the world, including Nobel Laureates. Current/Most Recent Career Position: Physical Therapist

I graduated from University of Toledo/Medical College of Ohio in 1992 with a B.S in Physical Therapy. I have worked as a Physical Therapist for thirty years in various clinical settings including; acute care, skilled nursing, outpatient, and home health. I have cared for people at all stages of life, during some of the most difficult times of their lives. I have witnessed and dealt with firsthand the changes that have occurred in healthcare over the years and its impact on the patients, community, and healthcare institutions. I feel I can offer the board the perspective of an actively employed healthcare worker who has experience and knowledge from working in the healthcare system for many years. Physical Therapy involves assessment of problems, development of goals, and formulation of a plan to meet those goals. This can be translated to many facets of life, including being a contributing member to the Board of Health to enhance community health and resources.


Cathy Nelson

Retired Healthcare Executive | Appointed by District Advisory Council

Current/Most Recent Career Position: Retired Hospital CEO and Regional Healthcare Executive

I interned for a year in all areas of laboratory science. These areas included hematology, chemistry, bacteriology, virology, blood bank; all areas of laboratory testing. Later I managed two laboratories before moving into hospital administration. I studied for my MBA focused on management. I worked with physicians, nurses and all of the healthcare disciplines. I was involved in community assessments and established clinics where needed in the area. For several years I worked with the hospital CEO’s in NW Ohio. The objective was collaboration to reduce costs and improve in areas where we could work together. All of these administrative roles involved meeting with Boards. I also had responsibility for Mercy Out Patient services including Life flight and Life Star Ambulance Company. This involved meetings with various township trustees. My background has been most beneficial in understanding the medical issues, the area’s needs and clinic operations as well as management.

Current/Most Recent Career Position: Staff agronomist Ridgeville elevator

I bring 35 years of Agricultural Advising Experience to our board, both in crop and livestock production. Having a focus on a healthy and safe food supply is one of my primary concerns when it comes to making Wood County a great place to live. Agriculture is the largest industry in Wood County and I am proud to bring my experience to our Health Department.

My entire professional career has been as a Registered Nurse. I worked many years at St Vincent’s Medical Center on the Med/ Surg floor along with Neuro followed by St Charles Hospital working in Wound Care. I finished my career at Ohio Living doing Home Health Care. I also have done volunteer at Mercy Perrysburg administering COVID -19 Vaccination shots. I have had a well rounded career as an RN and look forward to using my experience and expertise serving the residents of Wood County.

Current/Most Recent Career Position: Transportation and Purchasing Manager

I have been on the Wood County Health Department Board of Health for 17 years. I worked as Transportation and Purchasing Manager at Atlas Crankshaft in Fostoria for 30 years, from 1967 to 1997. I served on Elmwood School board for eight years. From 2002 to 2021, I worked as a substitute school teacher, putting in about 180 days per year in Elmwood, North Baltimore, Arcadia, McComb, VanBuren, Bowling Green, JDC, JRC and CRC. My teaching experience allowed me to experienced positive interactions between administrators, school teachers and students. I also enjoyed helping students of all ages and abilities develop mental and physical skills to deal with life after graduating from school. My Board of Health experiences exposed me to Board Members and Administrators and effective techniques for managing people and organizations. I am a homeowner and own 59 acres of farmland
