Emergency Management Agency
The Wood County Health District is responsible for the long-term continuing health protection for
residents in Wood County. The Health District serves it residents by strengthening its workforce and the community's ability to
successfully prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from health emergencies.
Wood County EMA
The EMA, under the direction of the Wood County Commissioners and in partnership with all the Wood County political entities,
assists local officials and first responders in the planning, response, recovery, and mitigation of natural and man-made
disasters and large scale emergencies. The EMA maintains the County All-Hazards Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and keeps the
Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in a state of readiness.Provide information and warning to individuals, agencies and

- The primary mission of the Ohio Emergency Management Agency is to coordinate activities to mitigate, prepare for, respond to
and recover from disasters. This mission is carried out by closely interfacing with local, state and federal agencies in an
effort to bring resources of recovery and support to Ohioans impacted by the disaster. In addition to disaster response and
recovery, Ohio EMA agency activities include: education, training, planning and preparedness - strengthening Ohio's first
responder capabilities and improving communication across the state.e.
